
March swimmers scoop Top Visiting Club accolade

March Marlins’ Blue Army made a big splash at the COPS Summer Meet after being named the Top Visiting Club.
The club's swimmers picked up a fantastic haul of medals and an incredible 80 personal bests at the event, held at Manor Leisure in Whittlesey.
Star swimmer Jacob Ure led the charge, medalling in every race he entered.
He claimed gold in the 50m and 100m freestyle and the 50m butterfly, added silver in the 50m and 100m backstroke and the 100m butterfly, and took bronze in the 100m individual medley.
Young talent Ruby-May Cranfield shone in the 50m breaststroke, achieving a brilliant personal best and a gold medal.
The youngest Marlins medalist, nine-year-old Beth Staton, was all smiles after securing silver in the 100m backstroke.
Jude Staton added to the gold rush with victories in the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly, and took bronze in the 200m IM. Meanwhile, Harriet Heaviour earned silvers in the 200m IM and 100m backstroke, and Noah Staton swam strongly to claim silver in the 100m IM and bronze in the 100m breaststroke.
There were also bronze medals for Eden Davies (50m backstroke) and Dylan Haylock (50m breaststroke), capping off a superb weekend for the team.
The coaches praised the swimmers for their determination, team spirit and excellent performances.
The Top Visiting Team title was a well-deserved reward for a weekend of hard work and standout swims.
Gold: Ruby-May Cranfield (50m breaststroke), Jude Staton (50m backstroke, 50m butterfly), Jacob Ure (50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle).
Silver: Harriet Heaviour (200m IM, 100m backstroke), Beth Staton (100m backstroke), Noah Staton (100m IM), Jacob Ure (50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 100m butterfly).
Bronze: Eden Davies (50m backstroke), Dylan Haylock (50m breaststroke), Jude Staton (200m IM), Noah Staton (100m breaststroke), Jacob Ure (100m IM).
Meanwhile, Alice Camplin, Hannah Camplin and Annie Gooch represented March Marlins at the Harry Wild Reading Open Swimming Championships.
Competing in sweltering heat, all three showed remarkable determination.
Hannah took home four gold medals, Alice claimed three golds and a silver, and Gooch secured a silver and a bronze - a great showing from the trio in tough conditions.
